| DESCRIPTION |
| If your joys in life are wonderful walks, painting, delicious food, fine wine, chilling out with a book and from time to time lifting your head to gaze at views of Albanian mountains, the sea and olive trees dancing in the breeze, then this traditional 4-bedroom stone property is the perfect hideaway. Located beside a no-through road in the peaceful hamlet of Pithos, near Loutses and the world heritage site of Old Perithia on the northeast coast of Corfu; this enchanting cottage is surprisingly spacious and has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard. The approach road is bound by ancient groves and the surrounding landscape is stunning. To really explore the rural beauty of this Ionian island you can access the Corfu Trail just along the road at Riliatika – read additional information below for more details.
The property has a lot to offer. Rustic charm externally, with modern twists internally. The house is set on three levels. The ground floor comprises an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, featuring a hammered local stone floor finish, is well designed to maximize space. Complete with a custom-built kitchen and under-floor heating, it is ideal for entertaining guests all year round. A cast iron and beech tread staircase ascends to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms, as well as a single bedroom/study, plus a fully equipped bathroom with pretty views. The staircase rises again to the master bedroom on the top floor. This is a fabulous area to retreat to. A well lit landing leads in one direction to a large covered verandah that benefits from a gentle hill-side breeze; and in the other to the master bedroom that offers ample room for a king-size bed and includes fitted wardrobes and another fully equipped bathroom. Alternatively this bedroom would make a great painting studio. The verandah is substantial and presents a spacious area for dinner parties. The owners are acclaimed chefs that once worked for Anthony Worrall-Thompson and have converted a nearby olive press into a beautiful restaurant and catering business, so you would enjoy the pure pleasure of fabulous food on your doorstep too. Other features include Iroko window frames and shutters, under floor heating throughout the house controlled separately on each level and a steel structural frame embedded in the walls for reinforcement (in keeping to building regulation’s best practice). Full of charm and character Pithos Cottage makes a wonderful home or holiday retreat.
In addition there is a plot of land for sale of 422.71 square metres, 40 metres from the house, by separate negotiation. Within the community planning zone, a property to a maximum of 200 square metres plus basement, garage and balconies can be constructed here. This land currently contains an old stone dwelling, two olive trees and two fruit trees.

The Invisible Kitchen focuses on its external catering activities in the summer, so the restaurant is closed, but one is able to place orders for delivery. In the winter it is open on Saturday nights and Sunday lunch times only. We enjoyed a meal there one evening, it was superb and beyond a doubt the best meal we have eaten on the island.
