The Corfu Property Shop is run by an English husband and wife team, Emma & James Wood. James has more than 20 years experience in the property sector, ranging from the management of residential properties, to the conversion of business premises and the development of shopping centres on behalf of the investment divisions for pension funds, including Taylor Woodrow, Scottish Amicable, Legal & General and the Prudential (PPM).

Emma was managing director of a group of UK companies for almost 15 years. During this time she was also in charge of marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations, not only for the group but often also acting for its clients, many of whom are publicly listed, such as Frogmore Estates and Hammerson UK. As a result she has an acute understanding and strong relationships with the editors and advertising managers of a broad range of media, including publications with high volumes of readership across the southeast of England, currently the most affluent region in Europe and the prime target market for Corfu.

Having lived in Corfu in the 1980s, Emma draws on her ability to speak Greek, knowledge of the island, professional relationships held with various advisors and her husband’s property expertise to accurately market properties and land on their books in UK publications and media to accelerate the sales process for both the seller and the buyer.

They opened their estate agency office in April 2007 and 6 weeks later succeeded in securing the rights to an exclusive associate relationship with Savills International, the London based estate agent with a global network of its own and associate offices, providing a comprehensive range of world leading property services.

For anyone contemplating a move to Corfu, Emma and James are also happy to share the experience of their relocation adventure across Europe. The lessons they have learnt, the good moments and the low ones and if they did it again what they would do differently. They have also created The Island Information Centre within the Corfu Property Shop, to give visitors and any wannabe residents a taste of this beautiful place, which they are deeply passionate about.
